ZANTHRON, Ullrstar Galaxy– In an exclusive press conference on Zanthron-67, intergalactic scientists revealed their findings on the baffling medical anomaly occurring on planet Nova-3 (commonly referred to as “Earth”). Dr. Zeep and his colleague, Dr. Keplr, took the podium to address the ongoing confusion regarding Earth’s most perplexing case– what they’re calling “The U.S. Enigma.”
“We have a deep commitment to helping sick and dying planets, so naturally, we’ve been closely monitoring the health of Earth,” Keplr said, their three eyes scanning the crowd of reporters. “Specifically, we’ve been focusing on the country called the United States of America. And what we have witnessed today is nothing short of a scientific miracle!”
“Every four years, between November 2nd and 5th, the nation enters a state of cognitive paralysis,” explained Keplr. “During these periods, citizens seem to perform political actions as if they were lobotomized. They vote for specific policies that actively harm them, only to turn around and complain about it. It’s as if they’ve forgotten that they received exactly what they voted for. The entire nation seemingly suffers episodes of mass amnesia– a sure sign of absent neurological function.”
“But despite a complete and utter lack of brain activity, the United States continues to function in ways that defy every known law of biology and neurology,” Dr. Zeep added. “Our best neurologists can’t explain how despite the country’s government being completely nonfunctional, the nation continues to lead the world in its GDP and military.”
“At this point, we can only speculate about what comes next,” Keplr concluded. “After all, if the United States can remain functional while brain-dead, perhaps there is hope for its future.”
