As a professional journalist, it would be both unethical and irresponsible of me to use this platform to amplify my own personal matters – but desperate times call for desperate measures. I am currently sitting in class about to take my Econ midterm, and I just realized I forgot to bring the Blue Book I need to take the exam. Does anyone have an extra one I can borrow? I think the Cal student store still has some in stock, but my lecture hall is in Li Ka Shing and frankly there’s no way I’m walking all the way over there.

Pleading to The Free Peach’s readers is not a decision I make lightly. I already asked the guy sitting behind me and he said he does have one, but is “only willing to sell it at the current market rate,” which he set at $85.

I can’t publicly ask the rest of the class because I don’t want the professor to know I didn’t attend his compulsory review session on Tuesday, where I guess he reminded everyone else about the Blue Book rule. Also, The Free Peach has, like, 11,000 Instagram followers, and I don’t have any other outlets with that kind of reach.

Realistically, I could probably get away with doing the exam on normal lined paper, given that it is literally the same thing. I’m not sure I can handle the shame and humiliation, however, of handing in a sheet of paper without a Berkeley-approved, appropriately colored construction paper binding.

The exam starts in three minutes. Please help.
