One day of bullshit is already far more than we as a society should tolerate — that’s what the Dalai Lama told me in a very reputable Reddit AMA. On January 17th, 2025, Meta, in one of its usual one-braincell decisions, elected to just fuck everything up by changing Instagram’s post previews from a very normal and standard 1:1 to a disgusting and perverse 4:5.
Look, we get it, Mark. Your wife is leaving you, so you’re transitioning back to your tech bro incel arc. But that doesn’t mean you have to destroy everything good in this world. We spent years crafting and perfecting our square post template, only for you to destroy it like you destroyed your marriage. We’ve had it… and you’ve left us with no other choice. We are suing Meta for $40,000,000,000,000 for the horrendous mental anguish they have inflicted upon us.
“It’s just a slight change in the aspect ratio,” you might say, like a naive fucking fool. It’s not just a change, it’s a dilemma tougher than the trolley problem (side note: that’s easy, you just build underground metros instead of using light rail). We have to either give into the Zuck and change our template or stick with our square posts and look like suckers who “did not get the memo,” as they say in popular media. Either way, we seem like doo doo dumb dumb idiots. And that’s not just what my parents and extended family call me behind my back while giggling like mischievous children.
Sure, Meta may have billions of dollars, a team of high-powered lawyers, and lobbyists. And yes, they also have immense public influence and could easily just delete our account. However…I forgot where I was going with this train of thought. Anyways, please follow us and like our posts, it’s the only way we feel joy anymore.
