BERKELEY, Calif. – With stormy weather sweeping the state of California over the past weeks, residents dealing with uncharacteristic below-60-degree temperatures are reporting an influx of another strange phenomenon: scarves.

Despite consensus that scarves are best suited for locations with actual seasons, this has not stopped residents from breaking out that one scarf Grandma knitted for them three Christmases back. It appears that residents have taken this recent stormy period as an opportunity to brandish every single impulse-purchase of California-inappropriate winter clothing, as never-worn UGGs, Canada Goose jackets, and double-breasted wool coats fill the streets.

Fortunately, this weather report confirms you all do look very nice and toasty in your Uniqlo scarves. Or your chenille knit. Or your respectable Aritzia wool-acrylic blend sweater, paired with the puffiest oversized-North Face parka you can find, of course.
