BERKELEY, Calif. –  Hysteria arose amongst students in PUBPOL 101 when news broke that their peer Nick Beard was an active Reddit user, as determined by his peculiar and indicative Ed habits.

“Listen, I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with being on Reddit, just that sometimes the things Nick posts are…let’s just say, maybe not exactly limited to class material,” said Beard’s fellow classmate Lindsey. “I mean it’s one thing to ask for help, but it’s another thing to post ‘AITA for not sending my notes?’ or ‘I [M19] can’t figure out #5’. Even that could be excusable, maybe, but what really pushed it over the edge was when Nick deleted and then reorganized every single thread on Ed because ‘there were too many subs’ the night before the midterm. Like jeez, it took me an entire hour to find the homework thread again. Don’t even get me started on when he replies to my discussion posts with ‘I agree with OP…’ like, please, just use my name. Anyways, was anyone really surprised that the guy who says ‘bump’ in the middle of lecture is on Reddit?”

When questioned, Beard, who was in the midst of an intense mewing session whilst moderating an AMA, seemed ambivalent towards the terror and disgust his active Reddit user status seems to have wrecked on his classmates.

“I [M19] find it interesting that my particular internet affectations and choice of social media seems to have caused any significant disturbance in the learning environment /gen. Of course, what do you expect from lib hell Berkeley…/sarcasm. But really, if something as infinitesimal and minuscule as a single student’s expression of will can interrupt the educational process in this esteemed institution, then what hope do we have for free thinking? Excuse my cruder language, but perhaps if my sheeple peers spent less time pursuing activities such as Taco Tuesdays and more time discussing the economic and political state of the world then perhaps our generation wouldn’t be losing the most significant culture war in recent history. But that’s just imho…”

At press time, PUBPOL students were left reeling with the possibility that their Professor could be a Twitter user after he said ‘ratio’ in lecture.
